GlossX Copper Series

GlossX Copper Series

Hello, my friends! Today, I invite you to join me as we delve into the “Copper” collections from GlossX.

Remember, when considering these shades, it's important to set your mind to the “background, tone, and reflection” mode.

Let’s kick things off with the Gold Copper Shades [6.34 & 7.34]

Whenever you’re working with what we call double-toned shades, it's essential to remember that each tone, along with the background within the shade and the warmth contributed by the hair, will influence the final result.

Let's examine this a bit more closely.

Note: Since these shades are in the “mid-to-light range,” the depth of the background diminishes as the shades get lighter, though it remains present. Additionally, you'll notice that the selected level for these shades perfectly aligns with the warm tones at levels six and seven. This ensures a flawless golden copper tone exactly where you need it.

When considering the ratio of tonal influence, we can use a standard approach, which typically teaches that the background level comprises about 50% of each shade. The primary tone (first number descriptor) accounts for about 30%, while the secondary tone (second number descriptor) makes up about 20%.

The advantage of using this combination GC|.34 instead of using C|.4 is that you can achieve a softer version of copper if you're concerned about too much intensity in your finish.

Pro Tip: These shades are stunning on their own when used on naturally pigmented hair, as there is enough background to provide satisfactory coverage and blending on grey or non-pigmented hair.

Another Pro Tip: These shades make excellent mixing partners with the GlossX Gold family G|.3 if your goal is to achieve a “Strawberry Blonde.” My favorite formula is 2 parts 7GC|7.34 and 1 part 9G|9.3, applied to level 7 or 8 naturally pigmented hair or to create high-low dimension on level 6-7 hair with up to 40% grey.
